Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the Spring term! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break and festive season and are feeling refreshed and ready to embark on the new term with us. We’re excited to share what we’ve been working on and what’s coming up. Here’s a quick overview of key topics and reminders for the term ahead!

Thursday 6th March	World Book Day Children are invited to bring in their favourite book and dress up as their favourite book character
Friday 28th March – Last Day!	Easter & End of Term Party Children will attend their regular sessions. Those who do not attend on Fridays are invited to join us (see info below).
31st March – 4th April (Holiday Club available)   7th April – 11th April (Holiday Club TBC)	Nursery Closed – Holiday Club available 9am to 3.30pm
14th April – 21st April	Easter Break – Nursery Fully Closed

🏗️ Exciting Works Happening at the Nursery!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news about the wonderful improvements taking place at the nursery! Our nursery is undergoing a fantastic makeover to make it even better, more spacious, and cosier for our children, families, and staff members.

The conservatory has had a complete transformation, now featuring a new roof, windows, and doors. It’s fully insulated, making the space even more comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.

As we move into the summer term, you will begin to notice other amazing changes taking place, including the opening of a room and relocating the kitchen to a more suitable place. We are looking forward to these upgrades and can’t wait to share the improvements with you!

🐰🌸 Easter & End of Term Party

Our special Easter-themed party will be Friday, 28th March to celebrate the end of the Spring Term!

Children will attend at their usual times, but for those who don’t usually attend on Fridays, you are still welcome to join the fun! Please schedule the times with their key workers.

It’s going to be a fun-filled day with lots of activities, and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone!

🌟 Introducing Our New Employee: Katie

We are super pleased to welcome Katie to our team at Sticky Faces Nursery! Katie joins us as a Level 3 Early Years Educator (EYE) and will be working with our wonderful 2-year-olds, creating exciting and engaging activities that will help them learn and grow.

Katie is not only an experienced professional with many years of expertise in early years education, but she is also a parent of two little ones who attend our pre-school. Her experience, both as an educator and a parent, will bring valuable insights and enriching opportunities to our nursery.

We are excited for Katie to help us create a nurturing and dynamic environment where our children can thrive. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!

📚 Team News: Continuing to Grow and Learn Together

We’ve all been working hard to expand our knowledge in children’s development and learning. Here’s a quick update on what some of the team are up to:

• Saida and Dlnya are leading our Maths Champions programme. They are attending courses and seminars with brilliant tutors from the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) and the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF). The EEF is an independent charity focused on improving education outcomes, and we’re thrilled to be working with such fantastic resources!
• Lucianna is currently completing the NPQEYL (National Professional Qualification in Early Years Leadership), an 18-month DfE course designed for managers and leaders in Early Years. This qualification will add to her existing Level 6 Early Years Professional Status and further enhance her leadership skills.
• Becky is working at full speed towards her Level 2 Early Years Practitioner qualification, and we’re already seeing her put into practice all the wonderful things she’s learning in her course.
• Channah and Fatima are both diligently working towards their Level 3 Early Years Educator Diplomas, and their growing expertise is evident in their daily work with the children.
• Leana is also participating in numerous SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) training to better support the children in her care and ensure she is providing the best possible outcomes for all.

We are incredibly proud of the team and the dedication they show to continuous professional development! Their passion for learning and growing is making a real difference in the lives of the children and families we serve.

👕 Labelling Clothes
Can we please remind all parents/carers to label all clothing that the children bring into the nursery. We have had lots of clothes being taken home to other people’s houses etc.

• £12 per jumper
• £8 per t-shirt

Please include the size and quantity in your email.

😃 Holiday Clubs
We will be running two Holiday Clubs during this term: February half-term, and Easter during the break! The clubs will be filled with fun activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and themed games to keep the children entertained and engaged.

❄️ February Half-Term Holiday Club

• Dates: Monday, 17th February to Friday, 21st February 2025
• Times: 9am to 3.30pm (full day), 9am to 12pm (half day/AM), or 12.30pm to 3.30pm (half day/PM)
• Cost: £26.50 per day (lunch and snacks included, or £115 for the full week) or £14 per half day session (snacks included).

🌸 Easter Holiday Club

• Dates: Monday, 31st March to Friday, 4th April 2025 (the following week, 7th to 11th April, is to be confirmed).
• Times and prices will be the same as the February half-term Holiday Club.

Spaces are limited, so please book early to secure your child’s place. We look forward to having lots of spring fun with your little ones! Just let me know or drop me an email at info@stickyfaces.co.uk

🕒 Changing Days and Hours
We understand that sometimes you may need to change the times and days your child attends nursery. Please be reminded that we require a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice for any changes, subject to availability.

⏰ Punctuality – Late Collection
Please pick up your child on time to avoid extra charges (£5 for every 5 minutes). If you need an extra emergency hour, please let me know, and I’ll book it for you (£10.50 per hour). For Ad-hoc sessions, please let me know in advance so I can check availability.

Parents whose children finish at 5pm are kindly asked to pick them up five minutes before closing time (as we close at 5pm). Delays after 5pm will incur a charge of £10 for every 5 minutes.

Please note that unless your child is booked into the breakfast (8am to 9am) or lunch club (12pm to 1pm), staff will welcome them at the start of their session at 9am or 1pm.

💳 Late Payment
Please keep an eye on your invoices and try to keep payments up to date. We understand that life can get busy and circumstances may change, so do let us know in advance if you foresee any issues. Invoices are issued on the 1st of the month and should be paid promptly. Please check the DUE date to ensure payments are made on time.

We kindly remind parents that up-to-date payments are essential to ensure your child doesn’t miss any sessions.
